The Material Handler at Hartford Lubricants safely loads and unloads trucks, moves inventory within our warehouse, and moves finished material from the production lines to inventory storage locations.
What To ExpectOur plant produces a wide range of motor oils, transmission fluids, turbine oils, hydraulic fluids, and other lubricants. Feed stocks are offloaded into storage tanks, blended, and then packaged into bottles, drums, and other containers before shipping out to customers. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment, which must be completed within 7 days of application or before job posting expiration. Your assessment results are valid for one year.
What You’ll Do- Use a forklift to safely load and unload package trucks, move inventory, and transport finished material from production lines to storage.
- Demonstrate Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) due diligence at all times.
- Receive, ship, and move materials and supplies around the plant manually or by mechanical means.
- Inspect, audit, and approve receipt of incoming raw materials to ensure timely and accurate stock and cost accounting.
- Perform necessary equipment adjustments to maximize production, safety, and quality.
- Load finished product on transport trailers, ensuring safe and efficient delivery to maintain customer service.
- Organize and maintain raw material inventory for adequate stock and operating flexibility.
- Perform cycle counting as needed to ensure accurate raw material inventory.
- Interface with the material management computer system (SAP), print production picklists and blend data, and use the bar code scanner interface.
- Communicate effectively with co‑workers and external drivers during the shift and at shift relief.
- Adapt to schedule changes and/or overtime as needed.
- Work any assigned shift and support HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Support the goals and vision of the Hartford Leadership Team.
- Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area.
- Work scheduled shifts on an as‑needed basis.
Typical schedule:- A shift 7:00 am‑3:30 pm (Mon‑Fri)
- B shift 3:00 pm‑11:30 pm (Mon‑Fri)
- C shift 11:00 pm‑7:30 am (Sun‑Thu)
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Willingness and ability to:
- Lift up to 55 pounds.
- Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material daily.
- Work occasional overtime when needed.
- Work in a plant environment and outdoors in harsh weather.
- Work alone or in a team setting.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, steel‑toe shoes, ear and eye protection, etc.
- Operate a forklift.
- Basic working knowledge of warehouse operations in a manufacturing plant and/or oil and gas industry.
- Working knowledge of SAP Production Planning & Sales & Distribution Modules.
- Beginner level proficiency using a keyboard and basic computer knowledge.
- Currently hold or able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Union‑represented position.
Base hourly pay: $22.43. Future pay increases will be based on the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
