Material Handler (Transportation)

Shifts:
1st Shift: 6:00am to 2:30 pm. Pay:
Weekly pay, starting at $17.96 per hour and eligible to participate in the production monthly bonus for up to $230 per month. Purpose:
Operates industrial powered vehicles to move parts or finished goods, safely and in a timely manner. Tracks inventory movement using barcodes and scanners; may load and unload semi‑tractor trailers; may be trained and authorized to handle special or over‑size loads, or to lift personnel with approved equipment.
- May fill in for drivers in other departments.
- Performs daily safety checks, assures equipment is in proper working condition.
- Maintains and takes pride in the physical appearance of equipment and work area.
- Before releasing for transport, inspects each load for safe stacking and secure containment of parts/pieces/components.
- Inspects each container for label and without multiple tags.
- Weighs and counts parts in containers for inventory accuracy.
- Assists in keeping aisles and storage areas free from debris or other hazards.
- Responsible for supplying hardware to production lines.
- Using the tugger, delivers hardware bins to appropriate production line.
- Verifies correct hardware is placed in bins per work order.
- Count, verify, receive and print inventory labels for returned hardware during the changeover process.
- Keeps paint department supplied with sufficient containers and parts, and maintains a continuous flow of parts to eliminate downtime.
- Verifies containers are tagged before leaving the department.
- Shrink wraps finished goods for shipping.
- Empties scrap dumpsters.
- During downtime, helps hang‑on/take‑off parts or packing area.
- Pulls fixtures and assists operator in job set‑up.
- Scans and pulls correct parts from the welding warehouse and delivers to appropriate robotic or manual welding center.
- Transports completed jobs to drop site.
- Empties scrap dumpsters.
- Unloads trucks and moves raw and finished goods.
- Prints bar code labels and accurately tags containers; transports to drop location.
- Scans containers in dip paint line area.
- Empties scrap dumpsters.
- Transports dies to and from designated locations.
- Supplies and removes containers and/or coils from press to maintain a continuous flow.
- Supplies and removes scrap dumpsters.
- Weighs and records scrap from designated dumpsters and transports to appropriate recycling area.
- Transports dies to and from designated locations.
- Delivers parts to appropriate assembly line to maintain a continuous flow.
- Removes empty containers from line and delivers to appropriate storage site.
