Position Overview

JBS is seeking an hourly Production Team Member. The starting pay is $21.90/hr, with possible increases up to $28.15/hr plus a $1/hr shift differential.

• Use assortment of knives, steel, and a hook to perform job tasks.
• Keep knives sharp and develop knife sharpening skills. Ask for assistance if needed.
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Bag and box product.
• Use proper personal protective equipment effectively.
• Work hands on at high speed and lift over 50 pounds.
• Keep work areas clean and follow proper food safety protocols.
• Adhere to JBS specifications to ensure product quality.
• May shave or wash animal meat before packing.
• Inspect meat or meat products and/or packaging.
• Stay aware of surroundings and notify a supervisor of hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Work in an area where livestock is being killed.
• Work in low temperatures near or below freezing (coolers, loading dock freezer).
• Work in areas with unpleasant odors.
• Work in damp or cold conditions (20-30°F).
• Work in extreme heat (up to 104°F on the kill floor).
• Lift, pull, or push 50 lbs.
• Work with sharp knives or cutting tools.
• Work overtime when necessary (heavy season, Aug-Feb).
• Work day and night shifts.
• Work Saturdays.
• Work in or around bloody areas, fast pace, repetitive hand motions and body movements.
• Capable of standing 8 to 10 hours per day, 6 days a week (loading dock 7 days as needed). Take two scheduled breaks per union contract.

Typical schedule:

Monday through Friday. Weekend work required as scheduled. In the Fall season, Saturdays are typically scheduled.
