Our customer in Loves Park, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. Were recruiting a Purchasing & Support Specialist to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Purchasing & Support Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting purchasing operations, supplier coordination, and production support activities to maintain workflow and meet customer and production requirements.

• Create, issue, and expedite purchase orders for raw materials based on customer orders, blueprints, and production schedules.
• Purchase tooling and other production or office supplies as needed to support operations.
• Request, review, and evaluate supplier quotations, including pricing and lead times.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve shortages, schedule changes, and delivery issues.
• Receive and process material purchases in the Epicor system and maintain accurate records.
• Verify materials meet customer specifications, certifications, and quality requirements.
• Track order status and communicate delivery timelines and shipment updates.
• Support inventory control activities, including monitoring stock levels and assisting with cycle counts.
• Assist cost estimating by processing customer quote requests for the Steel division.
• Prepare router packages and production documentation, including marked-up prints as needed.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and customer specifications.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills when working with suppliers and internal teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience purchasing raw materials or components preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• ERP experience preferred (Epicor preferred).
• Ability to work in an office environment with occasional time on the production floor.
