Under minimal supervision, supports team in all maintenance operations using the best maintenance practices, safety programs, good documentation practices, and cGMP. Maintenance operations would include preventative maintenance, diagnosing problems, ordering parts, making repairs, and scheduling work as required.
In addition to performing required job duties, the following activities are included:
- Schedule preventive and corrective work orders with production and maintenance Team leader
- Execute preventive and corrective work orders
- Manage spare parts inventory for site equipment
- Lead improvements through equipment and process assessments
- Operate within maintenance operating budget
- Assist Team Leader and EHS with safety and environmental programs
Shift Sunday - Thursday, routinely 2:00pm - 10:30pm, with some mandatory overtime, and on-call rotations, including holidays.
Position Responsibilities- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance work orders for the following pieces of equipment.
- Boilers, Air compressors, air dryers, water softeners, pumps, air filters, steam filters
- Steam, compressed air, DI water, city water, gas systems
- Tank steam sterilization system, temp control skids for fermenters, centrifuge, autoclaves, CIP, SIP
- Filling equipment, bottle uprighters, tray loaders, turn tables, labeling machines, etc.
- Back-flow prev enters, steam filters, air filters, steam traps, heat exchangers, water pumps, diaphragm valves, etc.
- Manage spare parts inventory for each piece of equipment listed above
- Perform associated Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) paperwork such as work orders, maintenance task sheets, equipment logbooks, etc.
- Participate actively in each confined space entry as required in the site safety procedures to perform preventive and corrective maintenance work
- Perform sewer sampling as dictated by the environmental programs and regulations
- Perform repairs in all equipment associated with rest rooms, break room, lockers, admin areas, warehouse, and attic areas
- Perform all maintenance duties aligned with all safety and cGMP procedures
- Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality
- Perform other duties as assigned by Team Leader
- Learn and comply with company and regulatory requirements such as APHIS, State, IEPA, OSHA and Zoetis
- Assist Team Leader in implementing the Maintenance Best Practices
- Coordinate with outside contractors, maintenance personnel, and production Team Leaders the day-to-day management of maintenance work
- Investigate the labor, parts, tools, and equipment needs for maintenance work orders and develop plans for their completion
- Develop and implement predictive/preventive maintenance programs for equipment systems
- Operate the welding shop and tools available to support production equipment (TIG welding, Arc welding, pressing machine, grinding, wire brushing, cutting plasma, drill press, hand drill, etc.)
- Participate actively in the White Hall maintenance on-call program
- Associate’s degree from an accredited technical/trade in electro‑mechanical or other applicable field
- 5 years of maintenance/repair experience in a related field
- Job grade entry level commensurate to prior experience
- Ability to comprehend written and verbal directions
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to effectively use basic math applications (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to document accurately and legibly using cGMP principles
- Ability to visually identify minute flaws in quality (e.g., print, physical appearance, alignment, color variation)
- Ability to interpret blueprints and equipment schematics
- Must work in an industrial environment safely using approved procedures, e.g., Lockout/tagout, confined space, hot work permit, Asbestos containing materials, etc.
