COMPANY OVERVIEW:
PGI is a privately held company, established in 1996. We are a leading supplier of private label solutions in the automotive industry. Our focus is on designing, manufacturing and distributing products for automotive, diesel, power-sports and specialty filter markets. Our supply chain network now branches across the Pacific and into South addition to functioning as a working member of the fabrication team, the team leader adds value to the team by assisting the supervisor in various administrative and daily operational tasks.
The team leader also provides guidance and support to team members in order to facilitate the achievement of scheduled production volume within acceptable quality and scrap levels, while maintaining a safe work environment. May perform other duties as assigned.
Assists in coordination of fabrication operations and scheduling of fabrication equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction. Takes steps to ensure materials/parts are available to achieve the production schedule and prevent unnecessary delays or changeovers.
Monitors work in progress and makes or suggests improvements. Inspects work, makes quality checks, and completes control charts.
Must be familiar with operation and set-up of equipment and have the ability to perform the various jobs in assigned area. Trains team members, explains job functions to others, provides assistance when needed and fills in for team members who are away from the area.
Assists in assigning employees, monitoring manning daily and securing replacement personnel, as needed.
May ensure accuracy of and approve employees’ records in automated timekeeping system. Performs other administrative tasks such as ordering and maintaining supplies and collecting data. Completes/verifies routine paperwork and forwards to supervisor for approval.
Promotes teamwork. Keeps supervisor informed of any problems associated with the fabrication operation, and takes action to provide support for resolution of problems and continuous improvement. Works closely with other team members to receive and give feedback.
Assists in ensuring equipment is properly and safely maintained; writes work orders for repairs and submits to supervisor. Monitors and improves safety and ergonomics. Maintains clean and orderly work areas.
Fills in and performs operational tasks in the absence of the supervisor.
1st shift M-F 6:45am-3:51pm 3rd shift M-F 10:30pm-7:00am
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Experience in fabrication position would be preferred.
Communication:
Effectively convey information to a variety of individuals; listen, understand and retain information and process feedback; explain procedures and processes to train team members on various job duties. In-person interaction with co-workers and supervisors.
Learning/Reading/Mathematical Comprehension:
Perform basic math functions such as addition and subtraction using whole numbers and decimals.
Learn and comprehend standard operating procedures and basic production techniques in order to follow and explain these to others.
Read and write at high school level in order to maintain records, complete required paperwork and reports, and access, enter and change information on the computer.
Independent judgment to troubleshoot, audit and changeover various types of equipment.
Understand and use various digital and dial measuring instruments.
Visual Requirements:
Distinguish between various items for proper length, width, shape, color, and other characteristics.

Motor
Skills:
Hand/eye coordination to operate various types of equipment, to setup and changeover equipment using hand tools and to operate various gauges and measuring devices
Regularly required to stand throughout the shift, although some operations may require sitting. Move to various work stations to perform assignments.
Frequently/repetitively bends, pushes/pulls and reaches with hands and arms.
Frequently lifts/pushes/pulls up to 50 lbs.
Work around moving conveyors.
Master skills necessary to relieve, assist and train team members.
Environment:
Work in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, possible temperature extremes, dirt, oils, solvents, etc.
Special
Skills:
Human relations and leadership skills. Establish rapport and recognize the interests and needs of others. Foster teamwork. This would include temperament under stress conditions when dealing with others and the ability to gain cooperation and respect of team members. Inspire motivation and encourage others towards continuous improvement.
Read basic product blueprints.
Dependability:
Maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Work any shift and overtime as required.
