This position is responsible for maintaining plants food manufacturing equipment and facility utilities, troubleshooting faulty devices/systems, and performing regularly scheduled maintenance on all processing and packaging equipment. The role requires proficiency and thorough understanding of various machine systems including mechanical, electrical and high‑voltage, PLC and controls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, and fabrication in a food manufacturing plant. The ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of management and operations is required.
Responsibilities- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various production equipment, systems, and devices; perform regular preventive maintenance as planned.
- Perform equipment checks and complete predictive checklists to identify early signs of potential equipment failures and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance planners to schedule and develop inspection routines and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Perform new installations, relocations, and regular/emergency startups and shutdowns of equipment per company SOPs and safety requirements.
- Assist Team Leaders and line operators in line startup and equipment adjustments; provide technical troubleshooting support to other maintenance staff.
- Keep supervisors or managers updated on all ongoing work assignments, provide consistent project status updates, completion time projections, and report any arising problems.
- Perform high‑quality work that meets industry‑accepted maintenance practices and maintains compliance with external regulatory agencies.
- Continue to develop maintenance technical skills in mechanical, electrical, controls, hydraulic, pneumatic, welding, and fabrication areas.
- Increase equipment‑specific knowledge for maintenance activities on factory equipment such as cook kettles, pumps, mixers, food formers, ovens, fillers, assembly equipment, fryers, primary and secondary packaging equipment, metal detectors, and palletizing equipment.
- Learn and demonstrate the AFNA One Team culture through effective teamwork, communication, leadership, production interaction, and support.
- Participate in the TPM (total performance management) journey through small group activities and continuous improvement methodology.
- Perform building and grounds maintenance and facility repairs as needed, including carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Work safely and promote a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and control systems relevant to food manufacturing.
- Ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunctions independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
