Production Associate, Solderer

Location: Aurora

Aurora, IL

Westell is seeking a Production Associate to assemble, visually inspect, test, and package through - hole and surface mount subassemblies and mechanical units. You will also make minor repairs, modify, and update through - hole and surface mount subassemblies to the current revision for new products. You will be working from the following documents:

* Bills of materials

* Assembly drawings

* Work instructions

* Schematics

* Test procedures

* Rework instructions

* Modification sheets

* Engineering Change Orders

Essential Duties:

* Assemble components according to layout instructions or prints

* Perform inspections of units for proper assembly, solder issues, missing, reversed, or damaged components

* Test, modify and repair new and used units with through - hole soldering

* Wire-wrap cable to electronic terminals

* Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

* 3 year minimum electronics production experience strongly preferred

* Previous Hand Soldering experience strongly preferred

* Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes and Workmanship Standards and surface mount technology

* Familiarity with use of various hand, air, and power tools, and test equipment is helpful

* Must be able to identify electronic components

Physical Demands:

* Required to sit, stand, bend and walk regularly; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

* Requires manual dexterity.

Salary Range - $19.00 per hour
