Overview

This entry-level, non-skilled general labor position is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role may be assigned to any department within the Processing, Harvest or Rendering facility.

Tasks include:

• Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching and lifting.
• Willingness to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operating hands and arms above shoulder level and staying on one's feet for 8–10 hours a day.
• Working in environments that may range from extreme cold to extreme heat (e.g., Harvest 60–96°F, Processing 32–48°F).
• Performing physical tasks such as using knives, hooks, saws, skinner machines, air knives, winter knives, steam vacs, and other powered equipment as applicable.

Positions may involve the use of a knife and hook to bone out or trim large pieces of product, or the use of powered equipment such as saws or skinner machines.

Positions may involve the use of a knife and hook to remove hide from cattle, trim large pieces of product, or run heavy pieces of equipment; some may use powered equipment such as air knives, winter knives, saws, steam vacs, and skinner machines.

• Willingness to perform physical tasks described above.
• Availability to work all shifts, including weekends.
• Availability for overtime.
• Ability and willingness to meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

All shifts (United States of America).

Hourly positions. Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.
