Screw Machine Operator
The Screw Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining multi-spindle and/or CNC screw machines to produce precision metal components that meet quality and production standards. This role is critical to ensuring efficient, consistent output in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate multi-spindle screw machines and/or CNC screw machines according to specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, and part drawings.
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper function and product quality.
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor adjustments to maintain tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and escalate larger repairs as needed.
- Maintain production documentation and quality records.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and company policies.
- Keep work area clean and organized according to 5S standards.
- At least 2 years of experience operating screw machines.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and use measuring tools.
- Experience with machine setup and operation.
- Troubleshooting and inspection skills.
- Knowledge of bar stock, offsets, tooling, and drill press operations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with multi-spindle setups or full machine setup.
- Knowledge of tooling, feeds/speeds, and basic G-code for CNC roles.
- Background in automotive, fastener, or precision component manufacturing.
- Experience in preventative maintenance.

Work EnvironmentWork on the 2nd shift from 5pm to 3:30am in a temperature-controlled machine shop. The facility currently employs 102 people and has the atmosphere akin to a car repair shop.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of SEWARD, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
