Job DescriptionThe Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery used in the manufacturing of seating and related components. This role ensures products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards while supporting production goals and continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities- Operate production machinery used in the manufacturing of seating and related components according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Monitor machine performance during operation to ensure consistent product quality and identify any irregularities or malfunctions.
- Set up machines for production runs, including adjusting settings and preparing materials, to meet job specifications and production schedules.
- Maintain machines by performing basic preventative maintenance, cleaning, and inspections to ensure reliable operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints and production specifications to verify measurements, tolerances, and product requirements.
- Use a tape measure and other measuring tools accurately to confirm dimensions of sheet metal and other materials during production.
- Support general production activities and assist with material handling, loading, and unloading as needed to keep production flowing efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work area and protect coworkers and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- At least 1 year of machine operator experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- At least 1 year of machine setup experience, including adjusting machine settings and preparing equipment for production.
- Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately.
- Experience with general labor, machine operating, and general production tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints to understand product specifications and tolerances.
- Hands-on experience working with sheet metal in a production setting.
- Familiarity with punch press and related machine operation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment focused on seating or related components.
- Comfort working with production machinery and tools in a fast-paced environment.

WorkEnvironment
This position operates in a production and manufacturing environment working with sheet metal, punch presses, and other machinery used in the fabrication of seating components. The role is scheduled on a first shift, with start times that may be as early as 5:30 a.m. or 6:30 a.m., depending on production needs. The environment involves standing for extended periods, working around moving machinery, and following safety procedures to ensure a secure and efficient workplace.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
