Job Description Summary

GE Aerospace is advancing aviation technologies for today and tomorrow. The role contributes to the production of advanced jet engine components that power commercial and military aircraft.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Machine all types of metals.
  • Generate and check part dimensions at various machining stages using complex measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, special purpose gauges, and scales.
  • Achieve required tolerances and finishes to produce quality parts in a timely manner and meet standards set by Manufacturing Engineering and Quality.
  • Maintain continuous visual concentration, ensuring tolerances and quality specifications are met, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Use inspection techniques to ensure conformance of characteristics generated at designated operations.
  • Perform setup and operation of equipment per drawings, method sheets, and other documentation, supplementing with job knowledge when necessary.
  • Conduct minor machine maintenance.
  • Train operators on equipment use as required.
  • Keep facilities, materials, and work area orderly, maintain good housekeeping practices, and exercise care in use of equipment.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health and safety, and quality requirements.
  • Participate actively in a team‑based environment, attend daily teamwork meetings, communicate professionally, and be open to new ideas.
  • Voucher or account own time accurately using the prescribed system and electronically maintain records.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing/machining experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and/or production planning.
  • Experience with set‑up and operation of any two of the following CNC machining processes: drilling, milling, grinding, turning.
  • Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
Desired Characteristics
  • 3–5 years machine shop or aerospace engine machining experience.
  • Computer proficiency and learning ability in Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of CNC and manual machine operations.
  • Basic programming knowledge, including reading and editing programs.
  • Experience in a self‑directed team environment.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge.
Pay

Hourly rate $23.50–$29.50, varying by experience, education, and skill set.
