Immediate Hiring For Harvest Assistant – 1st Shift
The Harvest Assistant supports production operations by manually sorting corn, removing defective material, and maintaining a clean and organized work area in a cleanroom environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality and efficient packaging and general production activities.
Responsibilities- Manually sort corn on the production line to remove rogue ears, stalks, husks, trash, and other non-conforming material.
- Throw discarded material into designated chutes to keep the production area clear and organized.
- Place corn ears that require rework onto the reclaim conveyor for further processing.
- Assist with general production tasks, including packaging and packing of product as needed.
- Support general labor activities on the line to ensure smooth and continuous production flow.
- Sweep and clean the work area at the end of the shift to maintain a safe, tidy, and sanitary environment.
- Follow cleanroom protocols and procedures while performing manual sorting and other duties.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and production standards throughout the shift.
- Experience with production or general labor in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
- Ability to perform manual sorting tasks accurately and efficiently in a cleanroom setting.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions such as sorting, discarding, and packing.
- Attention to detail when identifying and removing non-conforming corn ears, stalks, husks, and trash.
- Reliability in completing sweeping and end-of-shift clean-up duties.
- Basic familiarity with packaging, packing, and general production processes.

WorkEnvironment
This role is based in a cleanroom production environment focused on corn processing. The schedule is 1st shift, typically 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays, with the expectation of working six days per week. Work is performed on or near conveyor lines, involving manual sorting, discarding into chutes, and placing product onto a reclaim conveyor.
The environment is fast-paced and requires standing for most of the shift, performing repetitive tasks such as sorting, packaging, packing, and sweeping. Cleanliness and adherence to facility protocols are essential to maintain product quality and safety.
This is a Contract position based out of Woodhull, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
