CNC Lathe / Swiss Lathe Setup & Operator
$25.00-$35.00/hour BOE

7:00am-3:30pm
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe / Swiss Lathe Setup & Operator to join a small, growing manufacturing shop in Spring Grove, IL. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC turning equipment, as well as be comfortable working independently in a close-knit, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience with both Haas CNC lathes and Star Swiss-type CNC lathes is highly desirable.
Candidates with strong experience in either CNC lathe or Swiss lathe setup and operation will also be considered.
- Set up and operate Haas ST-10 CNC lathes and/or Star CNC Swiss lathes
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production specifications
- Perform tooling changes, offsets, and machine adjustments
- Set up tooling and work holding based on job requirements
- Monitor machine operation and production processes
- Inspect finished and in-process parts using appropriate measuring tools
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues
- Maintain established quality and production standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Work independently while communicating effectively with management and team members
- Support production goals and assist with continuous process improvements
CNC Lathe / Swiss Lathe Setup & Operator Requirements:- Previous CNC lathe setup and operation experience
- Previous CNC Swiss setup and operation experience is highly preferred
- Haas CNC experience preferred
- Star Swiss CNC experience preferred
- Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and machine adjustments
- Ability to independently complete setups and make production adjustments
- Strong blueprint and print-reading skills
- Experience with precision inspection and measuring equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently in a smaller manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
