Location: Spring Grove

Charter Dura-Bar, a leader in continuous cast iron bar products, is seeking a CNC and Manual Machinist to join our advanced manufacturing team. In this on-site role, you will set up and operate CNC and manual lathes and mills to produce precision components for automotive, fluid power, and industrial customers. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting tooling, adjusting offsets, and using precision measuring tools to hold tight tolerances.

You will perform in-process inspections, follow strict safety and quality standards, and support continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC and manual machines to produce precision parts from continuous cast iron bar stock.
  • Interpret blueprints, job routers, and specifications to select tools, speeds, and feeds.
  • Perform accurate measurements using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify part quality.
  • Adjust offsets, tooling, and machine parameters to maintain tolerances and surface finish.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections, documenting results per quality standards.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting to ensure uptime.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5
  • S/housekeeping standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and teammates to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
  • Handle material safely, including loading/unloading bars and using cranes or forklifts as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
