As an Area Lead with Central Steel & Wire, you will oversee the warehouse team and assist the second shift Supervisor with production and department goals. This position is second shift. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 3pm to 11:30pm.

• Operate motorized material handling equipment such as an overhead crane, side loader, and forklift
• Fill in where needed when short-handed or during periods of high demand
• Train staff to ensure they are fully trained for the tasks they are performing
• Lead pre-shift safety and production huddles with the team
• Ensure corrective actions are carried out to eliminate workplace hazards
• React to machinery breakdowns by directing repairs when possible, arranging for outside repairs or reassignment of personnel as needed
• Assume short-term responsibility for management absences as requested
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• 3-5 years of experience
• Experience operating equipment and ability to recognize materials in the service center
• Leadership abilities and a desire to advance and solid interpersonal communication skills required
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a rapidly changing environment
• Flexible, dependable, and solutions-oriented
• Develop proficiency in SAP as part of their role
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility

Salary: $29.09 - $30.40 per hour. A starting rate higher than $29.09 per hour is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
