Machine operator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Monofilament Extrusion Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end setup, operation, and continuous monitoring of our plastic monofilament extrusion lines. You will transform raw polymer resins into precision synthetic filaments, ensuring all products meet strict dimensional and structural specifications. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

• Line Setup:
  Prepare and configure extrusion machinery, including installing correct dies, adjusting vacuum systems, setting air pressure, and using correct materials.
• Material Management:
  Load raw plastic resins, color concentrates, and additives into hoppers, ensuring correct material blends per production orders.
• Process Control:
  Monitor and adjust line speeds, and zone temperatures.
• Quality Assurance:
  Conduct hourly visual and physical inspections of the monofilament for consistent diameter, color, and surface defects.
• Line Maintenance:
  Clear entangled or excess filaments, replace worn dies, and perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Documentation:
  Maintain accurate daily production logs, tracking material lot numbers, downtime causes, output counts, and inspection findings.
• Safety & Housekeeping:
  Adhere to all OSHA standards, utilize proper PPE, follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, and keep the extrusion floor clean and clear of debris.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Basic computer proficiency for interacting with machine control panels, digital gauges, or PLC systems.
• Mechanical Aptitude:
  Strong ability to use precision measurement tools like micrometers or calipers.
• Physical Demands:
  Ability to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours), climb ladders to access hoppers, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Attributes:
  Sharp attention to detail, strong troubleshooting skills, and the capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Job Type: Full-time
• Salary: $16.00/hour to start , ability to earn up to $19.00/hour within one year.
• Schedule:
  
  12 hour shifts 6am-6:30pm (Mon-Thurs) and 6pm-6:30am (Sun-Thurs)
