SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Manage direct reports to ensure plant start-ups and mold changes are completed timely and according to schedule. Work closely with management team and shift supervisor to control labor and ensure the production lines are running smoothly and efficiently. Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the plant. Daily communication with the management team and hourly employees to ensure best utilization of time, production schedule and cost.
MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for promoting and executing safe work practices throughout the Houston facility.
- Manage the set-up department, ensuring all set ups are completed timely and accurate.
- Identify mold issues and correct them by communicating, recommending changes to mold maker to optimize process/changes on tooling size(s).
- Work with plant PDE to approve engineering on new tooling /mold.
- Maintain listing of daily changes and report to plant manager at month’s end.
- Work closely with shift supervisors, operators and quality personnel, to ensure the production floor is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Work closely with PDE’S on new projects
- Manage spare parts inventory
- Train new employees
- Work closely with customer service and manufacturing manager on upcoming jobs and ensuring all components are here for the job.
- Evaluate jobs that do not run to standard and work with appropriate personnel to bring them to standard.
- Provide support to the plant during off hours as needed.
- Monitor performance and attendance on direct reports and administer accordingly.
- Promote plant wide safety practices.
- Required:
High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Required:
Good safety, attendance and job performance record. 3-5 years in a blow molding facility, preferably working with shuttle equipment:
Working knowledge of blow molding tooling and components. Ability to demonstrate high amount of quality and quantity of work. Knowledge of plant procedures and equipment use. Extent, to which team member identifies and corrects errors, initiates work activities, assumes responsibility, and anticipates needs. Extent, to which team member completes work assignments, meets schedules, and follows established policies and procedures. Builds trust by respecting the ideas and contributions of everyone.

Excellent knowledge of Bekum, Fischer or Kautex blow molders Understanding blow molding methods and logic Basic electrical knowledge Proficient in hydraulic systems Proficient in pneumatic systems Ability to assess job tasks, and prioritize those tasks when conditions change. Excellent communication skills Ability to communicate and train effectively. Ability to troubleshoot blow molding processing issues and effectively resolve them. - Forklift License Preferred:
Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Qualified blow molding setup
- Must be dependable. Must have good attendance record. Must be willing to work after hours when needed.
