Position Summary
Do you have a creative mind, a passion for communication, a flair for digital marketing, enjoy engaging with the public, and have a passion for civic involvement? The Village of West Dundee seeks an energetic, resourceful team player for the newly created Communications and Special Events Management Analyst position. Reporting to the Village Manager, you will serve as a communications and design resource across all Village departments and the Special Events Committee.
You will produce timely, fresh, and engaging content for the website, social media platforms, the Village newsletter, and press releases to convey Village initiatives and services to the public.
The Communications and Special Events Management Analyst will partner with Village leadership to share the overall vision of the community, including future redevelopment projects and the transformation of the reimagined Spring Hill area. The role focuses on clear communication with internal staff and external stakeholders, local businesses, non-profit organizations, other government entities, special event vendors, and residents.
Qualifications- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in those fields; municipal experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, Canva, and Adobe Suite (or similar design tools), and email marketing platforms
- Skills in photography, photo editing, graphic design, and video production are preferred; strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License with a good driving record and access to personal transportation
The schedule is 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work Village-sponsored events and attend meetings after normal business hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position.
CompensationThe salary range for this position is $75,531 – $108,517. The starting salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
