Communications and Special Events Management Analyst

Position Summary:

Come join us at the Village of West Dundee! With a population of nearly 8,400, we are seeking an energetic, resourceful team player for our newly created Communications and Special Events Management Analyst position.

In this pivotal role reporting to the Village Manager, you will serve as a communications and design resource across all Village departments and our Special Events Committee. By producing timely, fresh, and engaging content for our website and social media platforms, and through other communication means such as the Village newsletter and press releases, you will help convey Village initiatives and services to the public.

The Communications and Special Events Management Analyst will partner with Village leadership to share the overall vision of our vibrant and historic riverside community, filled with small-town charm in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, IL, along I-90. A key element will include communicating about future redevelopment projects, especially throughout the exciting transformation of the reimagined Spring Hill area.

A successful person in this position will excel at building relationships both internally with Village staff and externally with community stakeholders, local business community, non-profit organizations, other local government entities, special event vendors, and residents.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in those fields; municipal experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, Canva, and Adobe Suite (or similar design tools), and email marketing platforms.
  • Skills in photography, photo editing, graphic design, and video production are preferred; strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License with a good driving record and access to personal transportation.
Schedule

The schedule is 40 hours per week, with flexibility, as this person must be able to work Village-sponsored events and attend meetings after normal business hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $75,531 - $108,517. The starting salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
