The Marketing & Communications Specialist creates content for the U Career Success website, social media channels, informational and promotional videos, newsletters, presentations, and other marketing items as needed. This role supports Career Coaches, the Pre-Professional Team, Connect2
Health, Learn + Earn, and Corporate & Community Engagement. They will also collaborate with campus partners to distribute content and promote events and resources to a wide range of audiences.

- Maintains and updates the U Career Success website and content for supported programs.
- Creates content for newsletters, digital and print marketing, social media, internal and external communications, and reports for university leadership and community partners.
- Collaborates with the team to create marketing and communication plans.
- Monitors and analyzes the effectiveness of marketing/communication tactics and adjusting communication plans as necessary, in partnership with manager.
- Develops and adheres to project timelines.
- Ensures that distributed material is accurate and timely.
- May perform other related technical duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree English, Journalism, Communications, or related field plus 3 years of related experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with a variety of computer software; project management and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work both individually and in a team setting.
- Some areas may require additional experience with specific computer systems and may require skills in interviewing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio & video production, and oral presentation.
- Demonstrated professional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content for varied audiences and platforms.
- Experience creating and coordinating communications or marketing materials across multiple channels, such as web, email, social media, print, and presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
