Job Description
The Connections Pastor will play a key role in helping people take their next steps in faith and community at Carlyle Christian Church. This position focuses on welcoming guests, helping new attenders get connected, and creating clear pathways for involvement and spiritual growth. The Connections Pastor will oversee areas such as assimilation, small groups, volunteer engagement, and hospitality – working to ensure that everyone who walks through our doors feels seen, valued, and equipped to grow as a follower of Christ.
This person should have a passion for building relationships that lead people closer to Jesus and deeper into the life of the church.
- Oversee and develop the church’s assimilation process, helping new guests move from first-time visitors to fully engaged members.
- Lead and train hospitality and welcome teams to create a warm, intentional, and engaging experience on Sunday mornings.
- Equip and empower people to find their place of service and connection within the church through volunteer teams and ministry opportunities.
- Provide vision and leadership for small groups, including leader development, group placement, and ongoing support.
- Follow up personally with new guests, new members, and those exploring next steps in faith or baptism.
- Collaborate with church staff and elders to help create a culture of connection, discipleship, and community.
- Plan and oversee connection events (newcomer lunches, group sign-ups, volunteer appreciation, etc.) to foster relationships and engagement.
- Maintain accurate data and follow-up systems to track attendance, engagement, and next steps.
- A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life that models biblical leadership and integrity.
- Alignment with the beliefs and mission of CCC and the Restoration Movement tradition.
- Proven ability to build relationships and connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience leading teams, volunteers, or small groups in a church setting.
- A heart for discipleship and helping people grow spiritually.
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry or related field (preferred but not required).
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, elders, and volunteers in a team oriented environment.
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
