First Baptist Church of Greenfield () is searching for a Pastor.

Qualifications
  • Definite calling to ministry and personal belief in all commonly accepted Biblical principles.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and coordinate the fundamental programs of the church.
  • Demonstrated strength in personal integrity, moral conduct, trustworthiness, and strong interpersonal skills as required by Article II of the Bylaws.
  • Capacity for continuous spiritual growth and reliance on the Holy Spirit.
Responsibilities
  • Preaching – Provide ministry through the spoken word by studying, preparing and presenting relevant, encouraging messages.
  • Interpreting the Faith – Communicate a clear, relevant understanding of the Bible for Christian living today.
  • Evangelism – Demonstrate a heart for seeing people come to Christ.
  • Leadership – Articulate God's vision and assist the congregation in its implementation.
  • Visitation – Maintain a relational presence with church members in homes, work, or other settings.
  • Church Growth – Develop the vision for ministry to grow God's kingdom and increase church membership.
Office of Pastor Expectations

The Pastor will be accountable to the pastor's congregation, the Christian denomination, and God. The Pastor is responsible for:

  • Maintaining a minimum of 40 hours per week, with at least 12 core office hours per week for sermon preparation, counseling, and administrative duties.
  • Being available for visits to the sick, shut‑ins, hospitals, and nursing homes.
  • Participating in all relevant board and committee meetings, providing spiritual guidance in an ex‑officio capacity.
  • Submitting a detailed monthly report to the Board of Deacons.
  • Undergoing an annual performance review by the Trustees to determine merit increases.
Compensation and Benefits

Ministry‑related expenses, time off, and vacation will all be specifically covered in the employment agreement entered into by the Pastor and GFBC. Personal leave, extended illness policy, holidays, continuing education, and moving expenses will also be covered. The Diaconate and Trustee boards may review and adjust the agreement annually.
