Job Description

Living Creek Christian Church in Monee, IL is seeking a Lead Pastor who loves God deeply and leads from a growing, authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. Grounded in Scripture and prayer, he will serve as the church’s primary spiritual leader, helping people begin and mature in their relationship with Jesus. The Lead Pastor reports to the Board of Elders.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary preacher and teacher, communicating biblical truth with clarity, conviction, and relevance.
  • Provide vision and spiritual leadership in partnership with the Board of Elders.
  • Lead, encourage, and oversee church staff while building healthy ministry teams.
  • Champion evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development, with a particular heart for younger adults and emerging leaders.
  • Equip pastors, elders, ministry leaders, and church members to use their gifts and share in the work of ministry.
  • Participate in pastoral care through prayer, counsel, encouragement, and presence during times of need.
  • Model relational discipleship through active involvement in a small group.
  • Help the church use its new facility creatively and effectively for ministry, community outreach, and growth.
  • Provide responsible oversight of church resources and maintain the highest standards of financial integrity.
  • Coordinate preaching plans and weekend themes with the office, worship, and production teams.
  • Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will:

    • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, humility, integrity, and a consistent devotional life.
    • Model healthy biblical priorities in marriage and family life.
    • Be gifted in preaching, leadership, evangelism, and discipleship.
    • Build teams, develop leaders, and share ministry responsibilities effectively.
    • Provide clear direction while working collaboratively with staff and elders.
    • Have a genuine heart for people both inside and outside the church.
    • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Bible, ministry, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
    • Have at least five years of lead pastoral experience.
