Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Develop and implement nursing department policies and objectives, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of nursing staff and caregivers to ensure high standards of care and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the nursing staff well‑informed of changes in patient treatment protocols.
- Conduct performance evaluations of nursing staff, providing feedback and mentorship to foster professional growth and improvement.
- Ensure effective scheduling of staff to maintain optimal patient coverage without compromising quality of care.
- Manage the nursing budget, advocate for necessary resources and efficient use of materials, and monitor spending to align with financial objectives.
- Analyze patient satisfaction surveys and healthcare outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement adjustments in care and staffing.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to facilitate integrated and comprehensive care plans for patients.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in nursing practices and technologies, integrating innovative processes to enhance treatment efficiency and staff productivity.
- Ensure that all healthcare practices comply with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and standards.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of professionalism, respect, and empathy within the nursing department.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required;
Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred. - Valid RN license and any other certifications as required by state law.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a clinical nursing setting, with at least three years in a management or supervisory role.
- Must have experience in a home health management or nurse management role.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong comprehension of budgeting and healthcare finance.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively address all levels within the healthcare organization.
- Demonstrated ability to implement clinical quality improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency with healthcare information technology and electronic health record systems.
- Compassionate and strong moral ethics, with a dedication to confidentiality and integrity.
