Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed prescriber or a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care for the assigned patients, coordinates care with other departments, and upholds patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities consistently with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.
Position DetailsPART TIME – LPN – Springfield, Missouri
ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care, assist with medication administration, maintain accurate documentation, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support patient education and advocacy.
RequiredMinimum Qualifications
- Licensure: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or comparable education and experience. Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the state where duties are performed and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
- Experience: New or experienced LPNs are eligible.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV certification must be completed or achieved within 3 months of hire.
- Additional Certifications (may be required based on unit): ACLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., Six Assessment & Care Modules, and other unit‑specific certifications as required.
- Stand and walk most of the shift, with significant bending, stooping, and lifting/turning patients with assistance.
- Push, pull, and grip up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
