The Clinical Nurse Coordinator Free Standing ER at Mission Health is a Registered Nurse leadership role within our Healthcare & Medical Services department, providing front-line coordination of patient care and nursing operations in a high-acuity, fast-paced emergency setting. Based in a free-standing emergency department, this position combines direct patient care with clinical leadership, ensuring that safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care is consistently delivered to patients of all ages.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator collaborates closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff to manage patient flow, prioritize care needs, and support best practices in triage, treatment, and disposition.

In this role, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator functions as a clinical resource and role model, overseeing daily shift activities, supporting staff in complex clinical situations, and promoting adherence to regulatory, quality, and safety standards. Responsibilities include coordinating patient assignments, monitoring staffing and workload, assisting with rapid response and resuscitation efforts, and facilitating timely communication among the care team, patients, and families.

The coordinator actively engages in performance improvement, assists with orientation and mentoring of new staff, and helps implement departmental protocols, policies, and evidence-based guidelines.
