American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active IL RN license.

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 10 private rooms and 1 observation bed
• Unit is equipped to monitor up to 4 patients with stable dysrhythmias via telemetry
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with chronic and acute conditions such as CVA, diabetes, renal disease, COPD, pneumonia, and cellulitis, as well as post-surgical patients (orthopedic, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and general surgery)
• Major neurosurgical and cardiovascular surgical procedures are excluded from this unit's scope
• Night shift schedule: 3x12s, 19:00–07:30
• Every 2nd to 3rd weekend coverage required
• Floating required to 2 other Med/Surg units
• Pyxis medication system in use
• SBAR communication system utilized
• Special equipment includes safe patient handling equipment and bladder scanner

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Experience with skills including IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, PICC line management, colostomy care, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, chest tubes, wound care/wound vac, and peripheral nerve block catheters
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
