The Clinical Nurse Coordinator Ortho Trauma at Mission Health in Asheville, NC is a Registered Nurse leadership role within the Healthcare & Medical Services department, focused on coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for orthopedic and trauma patients. Working in a fast-paced clinical environment, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator provides direct bedside nursing care while also serving as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff on the unit.
This position is responsible for overseeing daily patient flow, ensuring safe and effective care transitions, and collaborating closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator Ortho Trauma supports evidence-based practice, assists with care planning and complex clinical decision-making, and helps evaluate patient outcomes for a diverse population of post-surgical, orthopedic injury, and trauma patients. This nurse champions best practices in pain management, wound care, mobility and rehabilitation planning, discharge planning, and patient and family education. In collaboration with unit leadership, the coordinator assists with staff scheduling, precepting and mentoring new nurses, reinforcing unit policies and procedures, and promoting adherence to regulatory and quality standards.

Candidates should be comfortable using electronic health records, managing complex post-operative care plans, coordinating multidisciplinary rounds, and supporting families through the continuum of care.
