We are hiring for a Field Biologist in our Alma, IL branch!

Position Title: Field Biologist
Location: Alma, IL
Experience: You'll rely on your education, and we'll ensure that you get your Applicators license within 30 days. We provide ongoing continuing education, including an annual all-employee event to keep you informed and up to date!
Status: Full-Time – we will keep you busy during the season and take advantage of your "down time" in the wintertime to keep your skills sharp.
Pay Range: $42,000–$45,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Position SummaryThe position will require a minimum of 40+ hours per week during our peak season. New Field Biologists will be provided on-the-job training for the needed skills and continuing education opportunities.
Responsibilities- Manage customer aquatic resources through regularly scheduled seasonal visits.
- Perform aquatic applications, water quality enhancement, aeration, etc.
- Engage in thorough data entry and processing, providing detailed information on aquatic management.
- Analyze customers’ needs and provide technical support for products sold.
- Work with industry partners to develop solutions for customer projects and requests.
- Responsible for seasonal installation and removal of pond aeration equipment.
- Maintain fleet vehicles and application equipment.
- Focus on Commercial Aquatic Applications within our pond management department.
- Develop and initiate management plans for clients.
- Assess clients’ lakes and ponds and initiate the appropriate management protocol.
- Conduct water and sediment sampling.
- Aquatic plant management and identification.
- Install aeration systems and decorative fountains.
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Biology, Water Resources, Fisheries, or related coursework, or equivalent work experience.
- Well organized, highly motivated, and willing to work well with a team of professionals.
- Current driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive a combination truck/trailer (non‑CDL) and operate motor vehicles for periods of time.
- Must obtain an Applicators License within 30 days of employment. Training materials will be provided by the company.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Bend at waist or knees and lift arms at or over shoulders.
- Work extended hours in all weather conditions.
- Work out of small boats and be a strong swimmer.
