Job Overview Grow your career with Mariani Landscape! A Technician is responsible for the restoration and stewardship of Natural Areas. Use industry standard techniques to remove invasive plants and promote the health and beauty of native ecosystems. This includes, but is not limited to ecological mowing, hand and mechanical removal of plants, applying herbicides, and assisting in prescribed burns.

Responsibilities and Duties Physically remove invasive plants to allow native plants to compete successfully and flourish

Mix and apply herbicide according to the label

Haul and load plant refuse and clean up the job site Follow instructions given to you by your production coordinator or crew leader

Maintain high standard of quality

Participate in all necessary training regarding equipment, safety, plant identification, and work procedures

Job Requirements Possess a valid Illinois or Wisconsin Applicator pesticide license

Ability to use mowers, line trimmers, hedge trimmers, pruners and handsaws

Demonstrate an acceptable level of basic plant recognition and horticultural knowledge

Ability to lift and move heavy objects (50 lbs.)Ability to work outside in various conditions

130/S190 or Midwest Ecological Prescription Burn Crew Member Certificate Ability to use chainsaw
