Golf Course Maintenance - Part Time Seasonal

Job Overview

TPC Deere Run is a par‑71, 7,256‑yard championship golf course located in Silvis, Illinois. The Equipment OperatorI is an entry‑level position responsible for operating equipment and performing tasks to maintain the golf course grounds.

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Ability to understand and follow directions and operate golf course machinery.

• Maintain logs for the operation, maintenance, and gas usage of each machine.
• Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean, organized, and safe.
• Clean machinery after each use.
• Inspect all machines and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Technician.
• Perform other routine golf course maintenance activities as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I, or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent II.
• Receive thorough training for each procedure before performing it.
• Follow the guidelines in the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each specific task.
• Perform specific equipment operator tasks such as:
  • Line trim trees, shrubs, posts, etc.
  • Edge cart paths, sprinkler heads, bunkers, etc.
  • Ball mark repair.
  • Divot filling.
  • Sod laying.
  • Utility vehicle operations.
  • Blower operations.
  • Hand raking bunkers.
  • Walk‑top dress equipment operation.
  • Backhoe operation.
  • Miscellaneous hand‑tool operations.
• Wear personal protective clothing and/or use protective equipment to comply with established safety operating standards.
• Execute special projects or other duties as assigned.

Employees perform duties in a variety of outdoor weather conditions. The position is very active and requires lifting, pulling, or pushing up to 50 pounds or heavier. It also involves moving or lifting awkwardly shaped items, and requires close vision, depth perception, color and distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Compliance with applicable safety regulations is essential.

Hourly rate: $15.00 – $19.00.

Shifts are scheduled as necessary based on business levels. The role does not involve direct supervisory responsibilities.
