Quality Engineer / CMM Programmer

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer / CMM Programmer with expertise in operating and programming Faro Arm CMM using Polyworks software. The ideal candidate should be able to program CMM using PC-DMIS software, particularly offline, and work with CAD models without requiring a physical part or 2D print.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program Faro Arm CMM with Polyworks software.
• Program CMM using PC-DMIS software, especially offline.
• Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on CMM machine using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Measure dimensions of components and finished products to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
• Read and write CMM reports accurately.
• Develop work instructions for CMM setup and operation for various programs.
• Use calipers, height gauges, micrometers, and various other hand tools.
• Ensure accuracy and precision in measurements for sample layouts and production for first piece and dimensional checks.
• Assist the Quality Director in dimensional inspection of products for PPAPs and investigations.
• Collect and analyze data for measurement systems analysis, capability studies, design of experiments, and gauge R&R.
• Review acceptance criteria defined by customer documents to ensure appropriate inspection methods and identify and document any drawing/specification errors.
• Compile and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to customers for approval.
• Assist the Quality Director in defining and delivering responses to customer requests and inquiries related to product quality.

This is a permanent position based out of Lake Bluff, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr. Company benefits include 401K, medical, dental, vision.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Lake Bluff, IL.
