QC Lab Technician

QC Lab Technician near Ringwood, IL Industry: Chemical Manufacturing Job Status:
Contract-to-Hire

Shift: 2-2-3 rotating schedule 5am-5pm Compensation: $28.50 - 30/hr doe

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure customers receive quality products and services they expect
• Perform routine laboratory analysis in accordance with current test methods: melt volume ratio, melt index, extrusion quality, hydroxyl determination, moisture, hardness, tensile, abrasion, TMA
• Perform non-standard laboratory analysis as required:
  Test method development, test method validation, customer requests, retests
• Check and report analysis results as required
• Retesting of retains for complaints, returned products or re-certification samples
• Perform basic preventative maintenance, repair, and calibration of laboratory equipment
• Undertake effective, accurate, and efficient processing of laboratory workload
• Maintain accurate and systematic records in accordance with documented procedures
• Ensure adequate stocks of reagents and consumables
• Perform laboratory housekeeping duties
• Participate in internal and external quality audits

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or higher in Chemistry, Science, Process Technology

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in TPU manufacturing, laboratory, or quality control in chemical manufacturing

Skills:

• Proficient computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
• SAP experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
• Literate and experienced with ISO 9001:2015

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to bend, stoop, lift 30 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, balance, and stand for long periods of time
