Quality Technician III

Quality Technician III is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and maintaining documentation including specifications, COAs, production paperwork, etc. Assuring production documentation has been verified per regulatory and customer requirements. Maintaining data entry into associated computer systems and programs per all necessary requirements. Working with the QA team and other department personnel to meet requirements, assignments, and responsibilities.
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Set up new ingredients and packaging materials in SAP/ inventory system
- Verify accuracy of incoming customer and supplier specifications
- Review incoming bill of material for accuracy
- Create set-up sheets and rework instructions for facility use Maintain material masters and registers
- File paperwork related to the GFSI system
- Participating in Mock and Customer requested Trace Recall Drills as requested
- Coordinate, control, and manage sample/retention programs as per the customer requirements
- Ship customer samples, per required specs, and other items directed by Supervisor
- Maintain hold inventory records
- Assist in new product qualifications and trials
- Maintain environmental monitoring records and trending
- Maintain shelf-life program records and trending
- Manage the Incident Report system
- Enter employee hours, aid in overtime reconciliation
- Participate in sensory and other product reviews as required
- Provide necessary data for KPIs
- Complete label verifications
- Perform QA Technician duties when required as back up
- May be required to work weekends from time to time
- Perform other duties as assigned by site QA Leadership
Knowledge of:
- GFSI and FSMA requirements
- QA Technician role and responsibilities
- Customer specs and expectations
- Exhibited experience with necessary SAP/inventory transactions
Skill in:
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong self-confidence
- Ability to work with autonomy
- Must be accurate, detail-oriented and maintain the utmost confidentiality
- Computer data entry and Excel spreadsheets
Physical Requirements:
- Reaching with hands/arms throughout the day.
- Ability to use hands and fingers.
- Ability to see, hear and talk.
- Ability to work in light to moderate noise levels.
- May be required to walk up to 400 yards to work and break areas.
- May climb steps to and from work and break areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (QAD approval otherwise)
- Three – Five years of QA experience
- Demonstrated competency of QA Tech II requirements
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), FSMA, and SQF all pluses
Starting Pay:
Quality Technician $18.20/hr., Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment.
