Quality Manager

$75,000-$100,000/year BOE

We are seeking a hands-on QC Manager/Inspector to oversee quality operations in a small, growing manufacturing environment in Spring Grove, IL. A background in plastics manufacturing is preferred. This is not a traditional office-based quality position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on the manufacturing floor, interacting with employees, verifying processes, inspecting products, and ensuring work is being completed correctly.

This is a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift.

Quality Manager Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee day-to-day quality activities on the manufacturing floor
• Verify products are manufactured using the correct materials and to print specifications
• Perform inspections and ensure quality requirements are consistently met
• Maintain quality records and documentation
• Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9000 quality systems
• Identify quality issues and work with production to determine solutions
• Oversee and support a quality team of 2+ employees
• Communicate quality concerns and updates to management
• Work closely with production employees to ensure procedures are understood and followed
• Monitor processes and verify that required documentation and records are completed accurately
• Promote attention to detail and continuous improvement throughout the shop

Quality Manager Requirements:

• Previous quality inspection or quality management experience in a manufacturing environment
• Plastics manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong understanding of ISO 9000 quality systems
• Experience with quality documentation and record compliance
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn company systems
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor rather than sitting behind a desk
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
