River Tech is looking for a Safety Manager to work in Quantico, VA.
The Safety Manager manages and implements programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses. Develops accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of organization. Manages and coordinates safety activities. Identifies and appraises conditions that could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluations potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents. Conducts research studies to identify hazards and evaluate loss producing potential of given system, operation or process.
Devises methods to evaluate safety programs and conducts or directs evaluations. Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions. Administers policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with development of new or modified strategic plans or policies. Ensures workplace safety is compliant with OSHA standards, DoD directives, and DCSA-specific policies. DCSA currently has 163 locations, for which the Safety Technician will be required to conduct safety requirements.
Facility Safety and Compliance
Ensure all DCSA facilities achieve and maintain compliance with applicable Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) standards.
Conduct annual facility safety assessments using a RAC code-based prioritization approach to focus on facilities with the greatest safety risks.
Investigate, report, and mitigate mishaps (e.g., ground, traffic, and occupational incidents) to prevent recurrence.
Track identified hazards from identification to closure, ensuring timely follow-up actions.
Implement programs to proactively identify and reduce workplace risks, including ergonomic stressors and illness hazards.
Conduct ergonomic assessments and job hazard analyses to improve workplace safety.
Program Reporting and Documentation:
Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable reports ensuring all reports meet established timelines and quality standards. Reports include:
Facility safety assessment reports.
Mishap investigation reports.
Hazard investigation reports.
Ergonomic assessment reports.
Monthly summary/status reports.
Industrial Hygiene investigation reports.
Agency employee safety training reports.
Serve as the expert SOH authority for the region, providing training, consultation, and technical guidance to DCSA personnel.
Conduct at least one safety training session per quarter via MS TEAMS to instruct DCSA employees on how to report a mishap, or a hazard using the DCSA Safety module and any other subject with the goal of enhancing awareness and compliance with safety standards.
Attend facility renovation and Military Construction (MILCON) project meetings to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
Accompany the Logistics Facility Manager on the “punch walk”.
Document safety concerns and provide recommendations to mitigate risks during construction and renovation activities.
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Control Plan (QCP) to ensure all services are performed in accordance with the requirements of the Performance Work Statement.
The QCP shall detail the Contractor’s procedures for the following:
