Ingredion is hiring a Senior Technologist, Global Applications responsible for supporting the development of innovative stevia-based products within Pure Circle by Ingredion’s innovation & applications team. The Senior Technologist will provide technical support for a broad range of food applications and will lead the development of food formulations and prototypes using bench top and pilot plant scale operations utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices and will provide development support by running a variety of analytical and application tests with the goal of developing functional, value-added ingredients and solutions to meet various customer needs.
Core Responsibilities:
- Building a good understanding of the Pure Circle by Ingredion product portfolio and single glycoside ingredients, along with business and manufacturing processes needed to support new product and customer blend launches.
- Leading product sampling of innovation blends and non-COA development blends, primarily for US-CAN region.
- Supporting product evaluation including analytical testing, sensory evaluation, in-application and in model system stability and performance evaluations across different application segments.
- Developing project plans and executing work packages and delivering clear outputs. Understands priorities and how project plans are prioritized.
- Providing technical expertise and support to internal and external customers around stevia and sweetener technologies and applies product and application knowledge to identify customer solutions.
- Executing well-defined experiments and procedures to prepare stevia based products and blends in model systems or food prototypes in the lab or in the pilot plant.
- Understanding and conducting pilot and production scale trials igns and implements new product technologies for customers and internal clients as needed.
- Seeking opportunities (training, projects, etc.) that develop knowledge and skills to become a stronger contributor.
Qualified Candidates will have:
- B.S/M.S in Food Science/ Food Engineering with 2 to 5 years of experience.
- Previous laboratory bench top experience in a research food laboratory/product development environment is desired.
- Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality, and ingredient interactions is a plus.
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
- Flavor technology experience is strongly preferred.
- Sweetener and carbohydrate technology experience is desired.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (technical reports for internal and external distribution, presentations, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience working with technical information (i.e. food formulations, food processing specifications, pilot plant procedures, etc.) desired.
- Ability to travel 20% domestically as needed.
