Job SummaryThe Bosch Lab at the University of Utah invites applications for a computational post‑doctoral position to support projects related to biomolecular interaction prediction using AI tools. The lab studies organ‑organ communication by discovering and characterizing proteins in blood circulation, using experimental wet‑lab tools and software tools to identify novel hormones and receptors by running AI models such as Alpha Fold on large‑scale high‑performance data centers.
The post‑doctor’s work will maintain and expand these software tools for the broader scientific community.
- Conduct laboratory research under the guidance of supervisors.
- Participate in lab meetings, share research findings, and engage in discussion.
- Review scientific publications, protocols, and general knowledge via internet searching to prepare for and troubleshoot research and techniques.
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in biology, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience with command‑line interface (e.g., Linux) and programming (e.g., Python).
- Experience running jobs on high‑performance data centers (e.g., SLURM).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Late‑stage PhD student or recent PhD graduate.
- Demonstrated publication and funding record during PhD work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (e.g., lab notebook, email correspondence, slide presentations).
