Senior Beverage Applications Scientist

Summary We are seeking an experienced Beverage Development professional to join a collaborative applications team focused on developing innovative beverage solutions from concept through commercialization. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of customer-driven projects, partnering with cross‑functional teams to create market‑leading beverage products while providing technical expertise throughout the product development process.

• Independently develop and optimize finished beverage formulations using a variety of flavor delivery systems.
• Lead beverage projects from concept through commercialization, including planning, execution, analysis, and communication.
• Reverse engineer finished products using ingredient statements and nutrition facts panels.
• Develop a thorough understanding of beverage batching, processing, and manufacturing techniques.
• Apply strong flavor knowledge to create and refine beverage formulations.
• Stay current on emerging beverage trends, new ingredients, flavor technologies, and industry developments.
• Partner with customers and account managers to provide technical support during presentations, demonstrations, and product evaluations.
• Support customer plant trials and production runs to ensure successful commercialization.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and key accounts to develop customer presentations and product demonstrations.
• Participate in routine sensory evaluations and taste panels.
• Analyze incoming project requests and develop effective technical solutions.
• Solve complex technical challenges by gathering and interpreting information from both internal and external resources.
• Mentor and coach junior team members while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

$120,000 - $130,000

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related applied science.
• 6+ years of beverage product development or beverage applications laboratory experience.
• Experience developing beverage products from concept through commercialization.
• Strong background in carbonated soft drinks, juices, or related beverage categories; experience with Micro Thermics equipment is a plus.
• Strong understanding of beverage formulation, recipes, mixing, blending, and processing techniques.
• Excellent laboratory practices with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and database systems.
• Ability to follow formulations precisely while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Comfortable interacting directly with customers and traveling alongside commercial teams when needed.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Positive, collaborative team player with strong problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑focused mindset.
