Cooks Assistant - Part-time, Days

Under the direct supervision of the Food Services Director/Assistant, the Assistant Cook assists the Cook in preparing food in accordance with Resident Diet Specifications, facility procedures, and prescribed dietary and sanitary regulations.

Preparation of kitchen, including supplies and equipment to run efficiently

Record and maintain temperatures of equipment and food in appropriate logs Follow and monitor portions and diet plans according to Federal and State guidelines

Prepare palatable, presentable hot and cold foods for residents, families and staff according to appropriate diets

Follow all food safety protocols

Follow all proper cleaning/sanitation procedures and thoroughly clean and sanitize personal work areas, equipment, and supplies

Prepares and assists cook in preparation of breakfast and lunch

Prepares cold salads, hot/cold/raw meats, baking and the handling of raw fruits and vegetables

Prepare and assist with salad bar presentation

Clean, sweep and sanitize your area at the end of each shift

Be open and flexible to changes in positions and duties for the appropriate staffing situation

Hold self-accountable for following the appropriate call-in procedures

All other duties as assigned

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Excellent customer service skills

Previous cooking experience preferred

Must hold or be willing to obtain a Sanitation license
