What You'll Do:- Develop new prospects and interact with existing growers to increase agricultural input sales, meeting and exceeding sales goals while maintaining profit margin targets.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with timely, accurate delivery and quality of products.
- Develop and execute strategies to boost sales of proprietary products.
- Consult with growers on agricultural issues, prescribe actions to resolve problems, and address adverse product results.
- Perform initial credit reviews to assess customer credit risk and provide information to the Credit Manager for credit limit decisions.
- Collect outstanding accounts receivable from customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- University degree preferred; otherwise, five or more years of agriculture experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.
- At least two years of experience applying standard practices and procedures within the agriculture industry, including the use of agricultural chemicals.
- Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and related applications.
- Sales experience preferred.
The salary estimate for the Crop Consultant role in Illinois is $43,000 - $100,000 per year, based on experience, skill set, and location. Actual salary and benefits may differ.
