OverviewThe Corporate Security Specialist supports the Corporate Security Department by conducting detailed investigations, managing physical security, threat management, and workplace safety. The role involves drafting policies and procedures, generating and reviewing reports, and providing support in fraud investigations and project management for security system installations.
Responsibilities- Assist in the development of draft policies and procedures related to physical security, workplace safety, investigation management, and threat management.
- Generate and review reports, including follow‑up with governmental agencies such as the Secret Service.
- Create presentations for corporate security reports and management review.
- Maintain existing databases, review for accuracy, identify patterns and deficiencies.
- Review reports and access systems to detect inappropriate or fraudulent activity and report findings to management.
- Support the Corporate Security Manager in internal/external fraud investigations as needed.
- Research and document reported cases, coordinating with management to minimize financial impact on the organization.
- Review vendor contracts related to security services.
- Assist with project management support for physical security system installations (e.g., Access Control, CCTV, DVR, Intrusion Alarms).
- Develop procedures related to various security systems.
- Assist employees from various locations with troubleshooting security equipment and general security/safety concerns.
- Travel to office locations to conduct physical security checks, investigations, and provide physical security presence when necessary.
- Serve as backup to Visit Center Coordinator when required.
- Coordinate enforcement of the Bank Protection Act Regulation (35% of time).
- Investigate suspected embezzlement, internal and external fraud, forgery, and kiting (35% of time).
- Develop draft policies and procedures and provide program management support (10% of time).
- Assist with corporate safety and security training and awareness programs (10% of time).
- Coordinate administration of the company's ATM Security program and submit required reports (5% of time).
- Perform other duties as assigned by Corporate Security Management (5% of time).
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, security management, criminal justice, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in banking operations, corporate security, and/or risk management.
- In‑depth knowledge of compliance regulations and federal, state, local, and criminal statutes.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with investigation techniques and physical security best practices.
- Ability to analyze detailed transactions, documents, and reports to identify problems.
- Strong knowledge of accounting, auditing, operations, and compliance processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong people skills and professional executive presence.
- Ability to multitask while operating with various security systems.
- Understanding of core banking systems for investigative purposes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relational databases such as Aithent.
- Project and task orientation with strong organizational and critical‑thinking skills.
- Initiative‑taking, self‑managed with little supervision.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain calm presence during emergency situations.
- Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers.
- Stationary 75% of time or greater.
- Move objects up to 10 lbs.
