Position: SECURITY SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Scott Air Force Base

Duties Duty 1:
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of AMC Information Protection (IP) Office, ensuring Information Protection complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Duty 2:
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities and chairs the MAJCOM Security Program Executive Working Group (SWG ) comprised of different functions/organizations across the command. Duty 3:
Represents the MAJCOM with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Duty 4:
As the AMC Director, Information Protection, is accountable for the successful accomplishment of IP mission goals and objectives and the secure accomplishment of all other MAJCOM mission goals and objectives. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

* This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.

* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
* Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
* This position is a designated national security position.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* This position is indexed as requiring a Tier I, Security Fundamentals, and DoD Certification. Employee must obtain the required certification within one year of entering on duty in this position or obtain an approved time waiver. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, practices, regulations, and laws applicable to the IP Program; as well as extensive knowledge of the overall Security Enterprise to include Acquisition Security, Program Protection, Information/Personnel/Industrial/Physical Security, Counter Insider Threat, Antiterrorism, Operations Security, Foreign Disclosure, and Information Assurance.

Strategic knowledge and expertise of all facets of these DoD Security Programs practices, procedures and regulations are applicable to the performance of a full range of complex security management responsibilities. In addition to understanding the operational characteristics across the multiple disciplinary constructs of Information Protection, the incumbent must design and apply unique management tools to develop effective converged solutions to long standing systemic problematic issues affecting the MAJCOM and the Air Force.

Expert knowledge of analytical methods for determining and evaluating vulnerability threats, intelligence data, and other specialized areas resulting in possible program compromise are required. Extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art security equipment, devices and practices and procedures across all security disciplines for planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures is required.
