The Senior AC Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems across the campus. This role assists with the overseeing of AC Refrigeration Mechanics, ensuring efficient and effective operation of HVAC systems while maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for students, faculty, and staff.

• Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
• Install, diagnose, and repair commercial air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Assist with ensuring all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards.
• Assist in overseeing AC Refrigeration Mechanics.
• Enter occupied and unoccupied buildings with appropriate accompaniment.
• Check out tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Operate state vehicles and equipment safely.
• Coordinate with other departments to address facility needs while providing regular updates to supervisor.
• Perform physically demanding tasks requiring strength and frequent moderate lifting (30-60 lbs), often in awkward positions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EPA license, contractors license (Class
  
  A) preferred.
• 3 years of experience with commercial HVAC equipment, chillers, boilers, electrical service to the units, and HVAC installation.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.

• Significant physical effort and strength required daily, often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting.
• Regular exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, and temperature extremes.
• Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.
