River Stone Group Inc. has a full-time position available for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Utica, IL quarry. This position will also travel to our Vermillion quarry from time to time. Candidates must be dependable and available for overtime as needed. A typical work schedule for this position would be Monday – Friday, 6am to 4pm, though some variation to this should be expected depending on the needs of the location.

This is a union position out of the Local 150.

• Safety-Focused
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance
• Vo-Tech Diesel Mechanic graduate preferred
• Ability to perform rigorous physical activities in all weather conditions
• Self-motivated with a solid work ethic

Our ideal candidate would also possess experience welding and operating heavy equipment.

• Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies and MSHA
• Maintain and repair all equipment safely and efficiently. Equipment may include front‑end loaders, haul trucks, skid steers, etc.
• Communicate with plant management team on all safety, maintenance, and repair needs, including proper documentation of such needs
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
