Job SummaryThis Maintenance Mechanic position is part of a 5-person, rotating shift team that is responsible for addressing urgent maintenance needs during non-business hours, ensuring that any critical issues are promptly attended to and resolved. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems and equipment, ensuring continuous and efficient operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year keeping the university open.
The technician will respond to emergency maintenance calls, coordinate with appropriate personnel, keep in contact with the utility plant operators, and ensure all safety protocols are followed. A clean driving record and the ability to work effectively with little to no supervision are a must.
Perform maintenance and repair tasks on a variety of equipment and machinery. Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair issues. Work with mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems. Ensure proper wiring in construction or repairs and ensure mechanical systems are in compliance with local or national regulatory requirements. Perform tests and locate potential mechanical hazards for repair.
May inspect and repair mechanical systems in equipment or machinery and document results. Complete routine tasks under moderate supervision.
Requires at least 1 year of related experience.

- Familiarity with a wide variety of building heating and cooling and other mechanical systems is a plus.
