Duties & Responsibilities
Provides troubleshooting techniques and facilitates repairs of faulty equipment or systems.
Possesses a working understanding of blue print reading and how it pertains to his/her specific job/project responsibilities.
Possesses the ability to provide field documentation (may include redline documentation) of As-Built documents for his/her work.
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring/raceway are installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
Fabricates support items for conduits, transformers, panel boards, disconnect switches and related items as needed for the project.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit including EMT, GRC, PVC Coated GRC, PVC and Aluminum.
Measures distance of, acquires, receives, stages as well as pre-plans the installation of placing the wiring through conduit for feeders, home runs and branch circuits etc.
Responsible for the electrical installation for capital projects.
Completes terminations of wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, transformers, RPP(s) units and circuit-breaker panels.
Connects power cables to equipment such as PDP's, MCC's, electric appliances, motors, lighting equipment and installs grounding leads and terminations.
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
Capable of directing others, when manpower requirement demands additional personnel.
Capable of working with other trades, as required or directed.
Provides trouble shooting techniques as warranted and facilitates repairs of faulty equipment or systems.
Able to demonstrate the ability to correctly identify colors of wires for installation practices & safety purposes.
Qualifications
Certificate of completion of a registered electrical apprenticeship program;
Relevant experience of 4+ years (minimum 8,000 hours) may be considered in lieu of certification
Journeyman Electrician preferred
Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; climb ladders; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to moderately loud.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include correctable vision to complete work in a safe manner.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting wage for this position is $36 - 44/hour, with potential adjustments based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
