Overview
Support multiple facilities across the region in a hands‑on maintenance role focused on keeping equipment, grounds, and operations running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Participate in the company safety program and attend daily pre‑shift meetings.
- Perform all duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations; wear appropriate PPE.
- Conduct daily walk‑throughs of the facility and equipment, plan and prioritize work based on facility needs and supervisor input.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance per manufacturer recommendations and company policies to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot reported or discovered equipment issues; repair or replace defective parts or request assistance as needed.
- Maintain required inventory to complete routine tasks and maintenance.
- Complete documentation timely, accurately and legibly.
- Perform general housekeeping and clean‑up of all work areas.
- Utilize industry standards and research information to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Perform highly skilled maintenance tasks (e.g., electrical, fabrication, welding, cutting, blue‑print reading, carpentry) as assigned.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: None required.
- Preferred: 1 year’s experience working in an industrial environment with a dependable work record.
- License/Certification: Mechanical Maintenance Certificate preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced level of understanding of mechanical maintenance, machine and tool knowledge.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to accept and follow directions.
- Ability to apply common sense and logical thought to interpret communications and recommend solutions.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Constantly balance, bend, stoop, twist, crouch, crawl, kneel and squat.
- Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
- Concentrate on tasks without becoming distracted.
- Enter information into a computer.
- Grasp and reach frequently.
- Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally depending on daily needs.
- Use PPE and comply with PFT and fit testing when applicable.
- Work in confined spaces and on barge surfaces at high decks.
- Operate within extreme weather conditions and high dust environments.
- Work extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed.
Expected base pay range for this role is: $17.00 - $25.00.
