Description
We are seeking an experienced Cable Splicer & Tester to join our growing telecom wireline team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in fiber optic and copper cable splicing, testing, and troubleshooting for large-scale deployments. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality network builds, customer satisfaction, and on-time project delivery across multiple markets.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
- Perform cable splicing, termination, and testing for both fiber optic and copper networks.
- Conduct OTDR, power meter, light source, and other industry-standard tests to ensure cable integrity and quality.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair cable issues in both aerial and underground environments.
- Read and interpret splicing diagrams, schematics, and work orders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of splicing records, test results, and project deliverables.
- Follow safety standards and industry best practices while working in the field.
- Interface with project managers and team leads to provide status updates and ensure customer deliverables are met.
- Support multiple markets as needed with up to 75% travel.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cable Splicer & Tester in the telecom wireline industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of fiber optic and copper splicing techniques, testing equipment, and documentation standards.
- Ability to work independently and with teams in both aerial and underground construction environments.
- Familiarity with industry safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license (company truck provided as needed).
- Willingness to travel between multiple markets.
- Bucket truck operation experience and CDL license preferred.
